Note: If you need assistance with the technology, please schedule a meeting with me.
The purpose of this assignment is to consider how you can “bridge the gap” between students’ home and school discourse and how you can best instruct students in the conventions of SWE. You will also expand your understanding of the use of technology in your teaching by utilizing either a podcast, video, wiki, or website as the medium of instruction. In a chosen medium, you will create a "mini-lesson" on a grammar concept. The "mini-lesson" should include both direct instruction of the concept and an activity/task for students to participate in (the way this looks/works will depend upon the medium you select).
What to do?
decide on a grammar topic you'd like to teach
decide on a technological medium--either podcast, video, wikipage, or a website
design a mini-lesson that can be communicated in this medium and DO IT!
(if necessary) type up any handouts the teacher or student would need to follow along/participate in grammar lesson
Write a rationale for teaching this particular grammatical concept: Why teach this particular grammatical concept? Why teach it in this way (1-2 pgs.)
